Lifeline

Iris Viola

Life is aggravating as it can be,
Thunders storm while trees rot,
Had I not falter I wouldn't noticed the knot,
That binds my mind that's at its prime...

Unable to gather any longer,
The information I sought now a goner,
Lest this night is as long as life,
Nothing will be able to escape the light...

For such as I that has a due,
But with no tether I am subdued,
For all is at the palm of the hand,
Always waiting the falling sand...

Modernity should go into that quiet night,
Never to be seen without a fright,
Go off now you fascinating bastard,
And leave me be to rot and be festered...
