  • Comment from author about the poem: "plumbing depths" being a let down and that in so many ways a paper plane failing to find its lift and soar being a let down and that for so many days a calendar bristling to find its bulk in years being a let down and that etched in your gaze a broken lens splintering to find its slivered tears being all lit, frown even should things work out a rucksack of rocks weighs down to find our yester sores

It's a bit much, like a verbal maze.

There is something in the air these days that insidiously wraps us in dismay, dispair, disharmony. When and how it began is hard to say, and when it will end I guess is up to us, if we're up to the task. This is such a thought provoking and soul searching write dear poet. Thank you for putting into words something I think we are all sharing.

Thanks Bella, that's really cutting through the smoke, air, and the thick smothering fog. Most appreciative of your time and thought.

Might the paperplane be a metaphor for someone who was let down by a person close to them, and then they struggle without them perhaps?

and the last verse, that no matter how well you turn out without that person, the thought of them and why they left you will forever be weighing you down?

Very nice poem crypticbard! All the meanings hidden under the simple words makes me think lots and lots!
