The Old School Love

Serene

Since childhood, I've dreamt of a boyfriend,
Not the causal kind, but the one with Old school mind.
A guy who's a bit goofy but emotionally wise,
With passion and ambitions that reach the skies.

It's not the looks that catch my eye,
But his thoughts and goals that make me feel high.
A man who knows the world, yet loves your tiny soul,
And treats women right with his words, deeds and sight.

It's not the voice that I hear,
But his calmness that I adore.
Big parties don't excite me much,
But little moments that make our hearts touch.

Like, a day that starts with smiles on our faces,
And making our dreams a reality at new places.
I don't need a luxurious car or a diamond ring,
But a rose or an ice cream on the street is my thing.

It's not about costly gifts that show our wealth,
But its the handwritten notes that tell how we felt.
Not a fan of nightclubs and the bars,
But impromptu salsa under the stars.

In a world that makes love physical,
I want to romanticize you with my eyes and be mystical.
It's not the compliments we make,
But its the imperfections that we celebrate.

If you love me for me, I'll love you even more,
A hundred times over, until my heart can't take it anymore.
If you're cold, I'll be the warmth that you need,
If you run out of words, I'll be the language of silence, indeed.

If you're happy, my heart will smile,
And as a short girlfriend, I'll promise to my match tall guy's style.
Maybe watching the sunset on the beach is fine,
But watering our plants and drinking chai is divine.

Dancing at a Taylor Swift concert sounds great,
But let's also groove with our pets and cats at a slower rate.
A candlelight dinner is certainly a dreamy scene,
But let's cook our meal, Netflix, and chill n keep it serene.

It's wonderful to travel the world and see,
But it's also great to save and help those in need.
It's okay if we end up in a quarrel,
Let's share a corn cheese pizza and cuddle.

Let's make our goals and conquer the world together,
I can't wait to make our dreams come true, my imaginary lover.
