Fields

Joakim Bergen

Divinely beautiful, I find the day

Charming and in bloom;

Ripe fruits of man's labour

Glisten in the afternoon

Sunshine as jewels; drops

Of divine dew upon earth!

And toil is rewarded tenfold

When the fields gleam golden;

Blessed by Sun an' envigorated

By the rain, every crop an' grain;

As if a sea of liquid gold

Streams from Heavens above!
