Dark Days

Firefall

I walk in the dark, trying to find myself

But all I see is a ghost of past memories

Haunting me with their faded smiles and broken promises

I live in the misty dreams of what could have been

But cruel reality is not what I expected

I yearn to be free but time has a hold on me

And I can't escape the chains of regret and sorrow

If I listen closely I can hear the melodies

Of school girl dreams and past loves

But they sound so distant and hollow now

Like echoes of a life I never lived
