Confession Clarity

Tune: Duke Street

('Fight the good fight')

1 John 1 v.8-10

**********

If we say we have fellowship

With God, profess to Him worship

But live in sin, darkness, we lie

Practise not the truth, not us nigh

But if we do live in the light

As God is in the light, clear sight

We have fellowship, each other

With each sister and each brother

And too the blood of Jesus Christ

God's Son for us it be sufficed

To cleanse us from all sin, so we

Shall live and shall forgiven be

If we say we have no sin we

Deceive ourselves, and the truth be

Not in us, but if we confess

God is faithful, He shall us bless

Faithful and just to us forgive

To cleanse us from sins, pardon give

And take away unrighteousness

Accepted in His sight no less

If we say that we have not sinned

Yet God's true word does not rescind

But we make Him a liar, know

And His word is not in us so
