Defined

Angel Spring

Existing for existence sake.
I walk within the shadows of ghosts.
Unable to step out of this darkness.
I linger in a place unseen by most.

Nothing, be all that survives here.
Everything else withers away.
Hope held on for a while.
But even my will refuses to stay.

There is no life within these boundaries.
Yet here I am, still able to breathe.
What is it about this place,
that makes me unable to leave.

Reason sees fit to let me wonder.
Amused by the chaos thus stemmed.
I play hide and seek with my sanity.
Time consumed; time condemned.

Will my torment ever come to an end,
or have I already become wholly engrossed?
Existing for existence sake.
I'm consumed by the shadows of my ghosts.
