Song to Julie

David Wakeling

She was a Vulnerable Girl,
She was a glamorous Lady,
She was out of this World,
But she was my sweet baby.

We met at School,
Always on detention.
I acted the fool,
To get her attention.

We almost married,
But she wouldn’t commit,
She took drugs and nearly died,
She lived for the next hit.

She was a Vulnerable Girl,
She was a glamorous Lady,
She was out of this World,
But she was my sweet baby.

One day she called me,
She said she was drowning,
I went to see,
But I couldn’t stop frowning.

She was dead inside.
She looked so sad.
I wanted to hide,
She was driven mad.

She was a Vulnerable Girl,
She was a glamorous Lady,
She was out of this World,
But she was my sweet baby.

For a moment she smiled,
And held my hand,
We were wild,
And wasn’t it grand.

I know I treated you mean,
But I did love you so,
We created a scene,
And I had to go.

She was a Vulnerable Girl,
She was a glamorous Lady,
She was out of this World,
But she was my sweet baby.

You get tied up inside by indescribable force. I think it’s lucky you got to visit those feelings and fortunate that the yiu escaped that big price you could have paid. I’m glad I read this. Made me think.
