Shaded Vows

Autumn Franclemont

We made a vow to remain together,

Our hearts intertwined in a love that was meant to last.

I never imagined that we would be torn apart,

But here we are,

Unable to ignore the painful truth.

The agony in my soul is like a knife,

Piercing through my chest.

My heart can no longer bear the weight of this burden,

But I know that this is what is best for us both.

Our love was once pure and divine,

But now it feels like a distant memory.

The hurt and pain have drowned out the bliss that we once shared,

And we are no longer the same.

I wish I could believe that there is still hope for us,

But the reality is that we have drifted too far apart.

Despite the sadness that fills my heart,

I know that we must face the truth.

Our love has become nothing more than an act,

A facade that we can no longer sustain.

It is time for us to let go and move on,

Even though it may be the hardest thing we ever do.
