Nothing More

Jordan H.

What once was is now no more,

There's nothing more to say.

Where was an ocean's now a desert shore,

There's nothing more to say.

Who I thought I knew I did not know,

There's nothing more to say.

The seed that was planted simply failed to grow,

There's nothing more to say.

The dreams we dream are naught but dreams,

There's nothing more to say.

Nothing is ever as it seems,

There's nothing more to say.

How can we thrive? How can we grow,

When there's nothing more to say?

I wish there was, but sadly...no,

There's nothing left to say.

The repetition speaks to me. The acknowledgement, yet spoken word contrasting as though there is, in fact, something to say, but all that is left is acknowledgement, is a beautiful contrast. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, you get it. This was conceived during one of those rare "moments of clarity" when things fall apart and all of a sudden the chaos of a hyperactive mind went completely silent, except for the phrase, "there's nothing more to say." What's so sad is that often in life when "there is nothing left to say" there is in fact much that could (maybe even should) be said, but it would simply be to no avail.
