How the Tables Turn

Naught Art

I have been dreaming of parting with you

dreaming of it

I drool happiness at the thought

You have everything that I do not

save for me

you will have naught

I was stuck in a tunnel

Once, you were the hole whence light escaped

but I must off you

kill you

oh, for loves sake

I am already dead

and you still take, you take

a little baby

hanging onto my nape

And soon I will free us of the cycle

of the never ending

constantly devouring

Hungry snakes

Now from a blissful slumber of daydreams

I awake.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A personal anecdote. I was once the person he parted ways with, and now that I have seemed to live out my fantasies with him, I realize that this was all it was. A fantasy; and I should have never let myself indulge, because now my fantasy has changed. Love is never the same twice.
