Playing Around

Isaiah Castillo

You've easily forgotten that I've tried multiple routes.
And just because the biggest one failed,
you left without a sound.
Commend me for the big swing, and reach for your father's approval.
Though it was hard to penetrate and I decided to sue and scratch,
I took aim and shot straight for his money
for a chance at a life renewal.
You've said things; I've said things,
but you took your thoughts into action.
Finish your flings;
mine were just dreams,
not for my own satisfaction.
Let me lay this down;
the end is around the corner.
And I don't fear you tearing up
while you feel guilty
playing around.
