A Drop of Wine

A drop of wine
that escaped your lips
catching candle light
reflected from your eyes.

The night is silent
and the moon is young,
leaving hues of lust
lurking from the dark.

Ember of your touch
is leaving marks on my skin,
the wave of shivers
is weakening my knees.

Seduction brought to perfection
where every move
leaves no room
for rejection.

As if tomorrow will never come
bodies collide
welcoming pain with pleasure
seeking redemption.

Wrapped in the Egyptian cotton
regrets lay,
but without remorse
anywhere in sight.

Soundless whispers
were given a voice
licked, bitten, and stroked
on the bed of broken hopes.

Sheets smeared
with unspoken pleasure,
an illusion that broke
as the new day dawned.

A drop of wine
caught on the lips,
hidden desires
and broken dreams.
