A Face in the Crowd

J.Edse

Stranger walking across the street

who are you?

what injustices do you face?

Am I you, or are you me?

maybe you’re all of us.

Not being able to afford rent, baby formula,

running to snatch up the latest

flash sale

only to be taken out

by a BMW

new model.

would anyone miss you?

would you want them to?

here for a reason, only for awhile

but you don’t know why

or where to go

somewhere

a forced trip to meet your maker

maybe a welcoming one

may

be

on time

what will you have to show

for your troubles?
