Smithy

Torpedo

When the final note drops
a silence unheard left lingering
And in the wake of this devil
A madman begins his tinkering

A flask of fire falls
It shatters soundlessly
Spilling the dreams and hopes
Of an uncome family

A final resonating echo
Stretching through the valley
Like hammer on nail, and pen on paper
Life carries on as the flowers prosper

  • Comment from author about the poem: This one happens to be about one of my characters from my earliest stories with whom I sympathise deeply. He was the friend inside me, a part that reminded me why it was important to keep moving forward. This is his story. Enjoy.
