Part Two

Cali Kittana

A simple plaque sits on the counter

My paint brush yearns to be used

I stare ahead with canvas primer in hand

Should I change the words or just the style

The pastels are pretty and the meaning is too

Instead I leave it alone again for today

Looking around I see the blank canvas

Last time I used so many colours

Yet I wonder how many is too many

Onto the next project my eyes drift

Underneath the sewing machine it lays

Returning to that place all dolled up

Someday soon I'll start all these things

Until then the thoughts will consume

Now there's only a few months left

Soon I'll be staring at cameras and friends

How I'll yearn for some time alone

Instead I'll be dragged this way and that

Not even enough time to catch up

Eventually it will all be over once again
