Youth's Hanging Verdict

Andrew Castillo

The puzzled hysteria

that spreads among youngsters

is indecisiveness with an incomplete road map.

It's craving the numbers in a bank account

but hungering for knowledge.

Wanting a job quickly

but wanting to live happily.

With the thought of a debilitating debt,

they switch to job think.

However, they see the cards that were dealt

to those who walked down that avenue

and decide to go to class think.

Choosing the path that most suits you

comes with risk.

But what is life without risk?

What would you do with all the money in the world?

I'd find a way to give it all to someone else.

That's what everyone would like to believe,

but most of us know

we'd all gladly accept this poison to circumvent the risk.

But pick from the poisons you've been dealt

and run with them.

Run as far as you can.

Because risk knows no bounds.
