Turbulence

Torpedo

Amidst the doubt that clouds my mind
And fear that lurks within my heart
I wonder if your love is true
Or if our love is doomed to part

I see the way you look at me
And how you smile so sweet and kind
Yet still, a shadow lingers near
That makes me doubt what I might find

But in my heart, I know the truth
For deep within, I feel the love
That binds us in a sacred bond
And lifts us to the skies above

So though suspicion may arise
And try to tear us both apart
Our love will conquer all our fears
And keep us close, heart to heart

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem for my ex-girlfriend while we were still together, and although it brings back unwanted memories, I thought you might wish to share my sorrow and heartbreak so that we could heal together.
