Preserving Looming Betrothal

Isaiah Castillo

Eyes and ears listen to this.

The one who can is the one I'm with.

Can't help but glance

at the belle all around.

That shakes me between

two feelings I found.

Love is a way to say never-ending.

The kind of devotion

locked, glued, and eternally

crucial in each other's lives.

So much so strife

becomes the lowest of threats.

To know that's blown over

in minutes is key.

Because squabbles do nothing

that's needed in partnerships

rooted in bullet-saving credence.
