Alzheimer's

ilovethecolorblue6

Our happy memories together,

Has been lost.

My heart aches everytime I see your eyes in confusion,

Wondering who I am.

You used to be my favorite person,

But now I’m not so sure.

It’s like our memories together has been scattered,

Blown away by the wind.

Even though you don’t remember me,

It’s ok.

Love isn’t a memory,

It’s a feeling.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Alzheimer's is a sad disease. A lonely disease. While you may not remember anything, your loved ones' hearts would be crying, shattered. I once met a lovely grandmother. She had Alzheimer's, and she kept forgetting who I was every 10 seconds.
