Petals

somethingdeep

A rose petal falls down from the flower

Wind carries it away to a world of wonder

It's wings emerge and the breeze follows it to freedom

As day turns to night the rose petal regains it's beauty

What's brown and wilted turns bright and red, what's scarred heals

The pain of yesterday seems forgotten, left behind with the rest

The sun is brighter outside of the prison bars

could that be why?

Why the stars are shining, glistening more than ever

Why as it runs amongs these specks of lights all alone, the rose petal wouldn't dream of looking back
