Justice System Cruelty

Love-Me-Softly

It's not anything new

The justice system is cruel

It's hard enough to sit in court

Just for the justice system to fall short

He deserved more

And yet now I'm the one at war

At war with myself

Because in the end, the justice system doesn't help.

    to ask
    weight of a crime
    to wonder
    measure of punishment
    they say law is blind
    a judge, impartial
courtrooms, as a church of fact
    and yet
    and yet
    with each passing generation
    it's apparent the law
is only blind to its own hypocrisy..
    (i'm sorry for your hurt
    that your bravery
    should be rewarded with such
    little justice
is a shameful mark on all of society)
glad you have an outlet for your rage
    stay strong!

Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

I’m afraid the Truth and the law may overlap but are not the same-I hope that you felt some vindication for now for the victim and their loved ones…
