Weeding

AuburnScribbler

Little trees, sips of teas,

running around, with honeybees,

don’t take those, are their pleas,

as I sweat upon my knees,

I get back, right on track,

filling up green, in my black sack,

those colours remain, they don’t lack,

thus, a buzzy friend, can have some slack,

patch is clear, time for a beer,

to toast to toil, and bee’s cheer,

stating that we were here,

doing our thing, without any fear,

such a scene, so serene,

this example is so clean,

perhaps, man should be less mean,

for we are the reason, of such a scream,

such a pain, we are to blame,

us top of the food chain,

our thoughts and deeds, are the shade,

a treacherous game, that we have played,

so, swap bleeding, for weeding,

instead of impeding,

when we fidget, we’re not heeding,

thus, our way’s, not succeeding.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sometimes I like nothing more than a good weeding session, (hold your horses, not that kind of weeding session, they are behind me, hahaha), I mean in the garden, to neaten things up a bit, for both human aesthetics, and to give our very important friends, the bees, more room to get to the flowers, in order to pollinate. Simple things like this, are little nuggets of wholesome in a such a barbarically run world, a world ran down to the ground by us. When are we going to make it right folks? As with so much going wrong from our own doing, and with humanity having a mortal constitution, time is very much running out. The banner picture accompanying the poem are "the flowers" I left behind, for our buzzy yellow and black friends, I hope that you enjoy the poem, here's to the bees, here's to improvement, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.
