Journey's End

tattooedreverie

Where does the wanderer go when his dream is fulfilled?

Does he go on another arduous path, full of loss and strife?

Does he settle in, feeling lost now his purpose has met its end?

I’d like to believe

That our wanderer, weary from battle

Finally takes the time to see himself.

Meeting with past friends,

Mourning the losses he never had time to accept.

I’d like to believe

That he listens to his heart

Dances with his demons,

And finds what he truly enjoys.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The story always ends with the hero taking what he worked so hard to achieve, and finally reaching the end. But what happens after? I always imagine there's conflict in the hero's heart. What can I even do now that my biggest dream was fulfilled? How can I possibly start something new? The little adventures are our most fulfilling after that. Go have a little adventure of your own sometime.
