Sleeping Beauty

L. V. Adams

Being together is like a dream

So, sing me a lullaby,

Read me a bedtime story

I won’t wake up unless you adore me

Wouldn’t mind sleeping for a hundred years

If I get to see you there

More like a blessing than a curse

Being awake without you would be so much worse

I’ll gladly prick my finger

If it makes this sweet dream linger

If I have to wake up, let it be to your kiss

On my forehead

If I have to wake up, please be real

Not a prince from a story

Let’s dance in the forest

And live in a cottage filled with fauna and flora

Let’s look at the night sky

It’s magical and shining, Aurora

But if it’s only a dream

Sing me a lullaby and

Read me a story
