For a moment to hold the Cosmos
In poets hands to search for rhyme
My heart it fell in shattered pieces
Upon some desolate deserted time.
Love was hiding, curled and sleeping
Watched by sentries in frozen fear
An angry sky willing but unable
To restrain a stinging tear.
As you pushed me in your scorn
Far away beyond your reach
That a thousand screeching centuries
Could not hope to heal the breach.
