I played it for you in the car
Put it on the jukebox at the bar
You loved the long melodic riff
Listened to it on repeat by the cliff
I think you once said it’s our song
Never thought you’d be wrong
But now every time I hear that refrain
I just wanna call you and pick your brain
Strange how the lyrics meanings have changed
The same way as the words we have exchanged
Can’t help but wonder, what does it mean?
Constantly replaying a specific scene
The one I’m sure you’ve forgot
Not me, still tied up in a knot
The song came on, we were dancing
But now you’re across the room, glancing
At night I listen to it alone on vinyl
Why did our love have to be final?
You ruined the song, it’s not the same
Would you say I’m to blame?
Deep down I have a recurring feeling
I should go without it while I’m healing
I’m drawn to it, addicted to the tune
Makes me wonder, will I see you soon?
Everyday I argue with the stupid radio
Yet it’s you I long for, I’m sure you know
