Watchers

Introverted Sage

I see them in the shadows
day after day.
Waiting for me to close my eyes
so they can take me away.

They keep me safe through the night
returning me at mornings light.
Some times we are flying as high as the eye can see.
Other times we are crying in the depths of the sea.

Long lives are lived
in the blink of an eye.
Time is of no meaning
when learning to fly.
