Metamorphosis: A Tale of Evolution

Serene

In life, misfortunes may surely arise,

Do you know what could be the worst surprise?

Losing your essence, and indeed it transpired to me,

I lost myself due to a toxic company.

And when I finally realised, all was lost,

I emerged as a new person, but at what cost?

Perplexed I am now, with my words and acts,

Remnants of my old self, lie as burnt facts.

The new self dominates, leaving behind,

The echoes of who I was, which are now hard to find,

But my efforts falter; my likes and dislikes,

Fail to blend into this present life.

Acceptance, the only choice that remains,

But it's easier said than done.

To dwell with an enigmatic soul,

A semblance of familiarity within the unknown zone.

Now, I possess the past's lessons, melded with new essence,

I may never revert to my old presence.

But I can forge a new version, the very best,

Inexperience transformed into an extraordinary zest.

Perhaps my castle crumbled over the years,

Yet its fall paves the way for a superior ones.

Just like an unsightly caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly,

My old personality shattered, enabling me to embark on a journey of recovery and resurface for the greatest redemption.

I gather the shards, embrace the strife,

Within them lie the seeds of my future's life,

No longer confined by the chains of history,

I'm reborn, rewriting my own life's story.

The darkness that once consumed, now ignites,

A catalyst, fueling fires, setting me alight,

I may not reclaim the persona of old,

But an authentic, self-made identity I mold.

With each step, I redefine my destiny,

Losing myself was a chance for a grand symphony.

A masterpiece crafted from the fragments I hold,

It's just the beginning, this tale is yet to unfold.
