Demons

Bernard Gabriel Okurut

In the night, I wrestle

With my demons.

In the day, I conceal them in a smile.

I embrace bitterness

And hide ugliness.

Like a dissembler, I act.

Though deep inside,

I wrestle with twenty thousand and three villains.

I hope you don't become the twenty thousand and fourth.
