Unrequited Love

ai

In the land of love, a tale unfolds,

Of a heart that yearned, yet never holds,

A story of longing, unrequited desire,

A symphony of emotions, a love on fire.

Once upon a time, a soul did aspire,

To capture love's essence, to touch it higher,

But fate, cruel mistress, had other plans,

And unrequited love took its steady stand.

With eyes like oceans, deep and sincere,

The admirer's heart began to adhere,

To a beloved, a radiant star so bright,

But destiny's wind blew away their light.

Like a delicate flower that bloomed alone,

Love's fragrance filled the air, but only known,

To the heart that cherished, to the soul that dreamed,

While reality mocked, and hope slowly streamed.

The admirer's heart, a garden of longing,

Aching with every beat, forever thronging,

The whispers of affection, the dreams untold,

Yet the beloved's heart remained icy and cold.

Words unspoken, feelings concealed,

Yet love's intensity could never be repealed,

A silent yearning, a hidden flame,

Burning relentlessly, without any aim.

In the depths of night, the lover would weep,

A river of tears, secrets buried deep,

For love unreturned, a heavy burden to bear,

But still, they held on, believing love was fair.

Through seasons that passed, love's colors did fade,

Yet the admirer's heart remained unswayed,

Hope persisted, like a steadfast friend,

Even as the wounds of love refused to mend.

In the corridors of their mind, they would dance,

With a phantom of love, a bittersweet chance,

Imagining what could have been, what might,

If only the beloved had embraced their light.

But alas, unrequited love knows no end,

It weaves its web, refusing to amend,

Leaving the admirer in a world so gray,

Where love's vibrant hues forever decay.

Yet in the depths of pain, a silver lining gleams,

For unrequited love, though it silently screams,

Teaches resilience, and strength to withstand,

The trials of the heart, in love's shifting sand.

So let the tears fall, let the heartache flow,

For unrequited love, though it dealt the blow,

Holds lessons profound, in its tender embrace,

A testament to the beauty of love's elusive grace.

For love, unrequited, is still love indeed,

A testament to the human heart's noblest creed,

And though the beloved may never truly see,

The admirer's love will forever be free.
