Cascade to Liberty

Keith Jeffries

Cascade to Liberty

Let the barrier burst its hefty constraints,

allow the tidal surge to crash forward.

Down, dashing over rocks and through gullies,

as I flow with them from captivity to freedom.

Forever forward with an intensity of spray,

until the pool of tranquility is reached.

There amidst verdant tropical foliage,

I float in supine relaxation gazing above.

The waters beat furiously in the background,

as they too are released from their confinement.

I drift aimlessly, freely without constraint,

to a place of liberty, life, contentment and creativity.

As the waters above now trickle gently below,

a new dawn has broken for me to grow.
