DEMONS

LIZ

Notice of absence from LIZ
PEACE, LOVE, LIGHT!

Beneath the moon, and impatient stars, I find the demons from my past.

Seasons wrapped in a moment's time; waiting to find the missing lights.

I keep them hidden; out of sight, you can't see them, but they're wise.

Windows are open, I'm setting them free, darkness or light, I'm taking a risk!

I may be alert, stiffly aware, but this time around, I'm doing it scared!

Amazing! I hope I can reach your level someday, the way you are able to convey your feelings so precisely is just remarkable! (Although to be honest I don't think I understood the poem completely 😝, but atleast I tried 😂)

      • LIZ

😆 thank you so much!! At least you tried! It's open to interpretation! However, what I'm trying to convey is....take a leap of faith. Whatever
it is you're passionate about, do it scared!

      • The Dreamer

Thank you for explaining, i got it now 👍🏻 (so what you meant was, do it scared if you are afraid but "do it", or am i misinterpreting it? 😅)

      • LIZ

        Exactly!!! ❤️

        taking action, while fingers shake
        that chosen drug, still coursing
through our veins and stuttering lungs
tears as smiles, hope as silence
in this moment, my new page
        is birthed, bottles emptied
        everything binned
a new me, excavating that child me
from deep within, liberating a self
I tried to burry, beneath fear's
        corrosive fingernails and lies
'salut' with H2O, to my eyes
        free of self-cruelty's, bloodshot
        accusations
watch out world, hear my roar
prepare to watch a queen, soar...!

      • LIZ

YES! Such an impact! "excavating that child me from deep within, liberating a self I tried to burry", such a painful, but beautiful process. Watch out world indeed!!! Thank you!!!
