Waiting

FallingAwake2

Quietly internally, eternally waiting

for the slip up where you reach out,

through the pores of intoxication.

Waiting for that awkward holiday wish-

Waiting for your next sleepless night-

in the early hours you know I love.

Waiting for when she leaves…

But, my days of initiation are gone,

I’ll let you pass on by.

Like you let me.

This is truly haunting! A lovely thing to read as I turn off the lamp and drift to sleep in the wee wee hours...
