The Lyric of a Revolutionary

aih

Revolution, my dear, enthrals you

It eclipses the eloquence of your being in the most glorious of supernovas, adorning the skies with your authenticity

And you are divinity in its crystalline form, in its most enviable certainty

That for such a fleeting moment you get to be illustrious

With an unobtainable reverence captured only in the way a clockmaker fixes time

A translucent soul painted with the colours of a rising sun; the first break of daylight upon an infinite canvas of blackness

Solidarity awakened in the whisper of dawn, and yet so infinitely alone in this futility

Balanced impossibly at such an altitude- the finest of lines between morality and ambiguity trembling in the unsettled dust of a vigour of that may implode with any breath

Not a flicker of hesitancy even as the stars turn, though the song of revolution as it begins its first chorus is defeating

To age always with the ends of a decade

At the fragmented beginnings of a century;

Fighting and dying and breathing and hoping

Even now, even in this life, even in this time

But rearrange the stars and demand they form in a constellation that may point to change

Rage a war against gravity, and you would believe you could win

You are not sustainable, even if only for a moment, and you will burn yourself into the embers of a forgotten promise

Revolution, my dear, will destroy you
