Where No Mirrors Are Required

Where No Mirrors Are Required

The couple, in the corner

were so intent

on each other, they never

even noticed

that the mirrors were there

and she,

to be fair, ate more than her

  lover ate ..

While again in the kitchen,

a stove

and a table, though both

heavily laden,

remained otherwise empty,

  barren and bare ..

The idea of a table β€˜ feeling β€˜empty .. your writing makes me think of those things being in the background , being β€˜ invisible β€˜ and uncared for .. they are so intent on each other that nothing else matters to them

    Liked your writing )

Even if you didn't mean it there are definitely two meanings to this one. That's the genius of your mind

I love the open ended finishing... it does not always have to be the full story, a flash at times is good enough to let the mind finish its own... Totally taken by the title as well. Your poetic outlook is remarkable, N. Beautiful one!

                (when love triumphs over
                those guaranteed losses
                as longevity's, curse)
