Memories

Kathryn Amaka

On this sacred ground, where pain and love emboss.

Silent whispers dance upon the autumn breeze,

As memories awaken, bringing me to my knees.

A patchwork of emotions, woven in each stone,

Where sorrow blossoms, no longer alone.

Each tomb, a testament to love and grief,

A reminder of the fragile, transient grace,

Each epitaph, a snippet of a sacred tale,

Enraptured in the sanctuary of this solemn place.

Time, an elusive river, flowing endlessly,

Yet their presence lingers, haunting so tenderly.

Through tear-stained eyes, I see fragments of their lives,

Echoes of laughter, and secrets that archives.

Each step forward is a tender dance of grace,

A pilgrimage of love in this sacred space.

The weight of their absence, heavy on my heart,

Yet their spirits guide me, never far apart.

The tombs whisper stories of joy and of pain,

Of souls set free from this earthly domain.

Grief intertwines with love, a bittersweet embrace,

As I stand upon the tombs, feeling their embrace, a paradox unfolds,

In the depths of loss, strength begins to rise,

From the caverns of sorrow, hope gently unfurls,

Bonded by the love that never truly dies.

In reverence for the lives that graced my path,

Their spirits dancing in the tapestry of my heart,

Forever cherished, though the years may pass.
