A bird

sorenbarrett

I had a bird, I loved so

One that I had for years

One day I let it go

Despite many tears

Although it broke my heart

I knew that I should

return it to its start

for its own good

It comes back from time to time

If not in reality

as it does in this rhyme

and in my mentality

yeah, i have learnt the hard way
    as well, now
i only look for homing Pigeon's
just that, they're not that easy to find
    I find...
    (I so relate, dear Poet
I hope fate affords you kindness
    enough
and delivers you a homing Pigeon
for your generous heart, one more
    time, for keeps, this time)
