Obedience

djlil4112

She smiles, jumping around excitedly
"Calm down" they say
Two words.
Two words she hears everyday
Two words that make her break
Why can't I be me? She thinks as she sits in the bare silence of what was once nothing but her excitement
Is it something wrong with me? Their voices infiltrate her head, deafening her own and the things she once would have said
"Whyre you so quiet and boring?"
It stabs like a knife
I thought this is what they wanted from me
A quiet and obedient life
The wound grows bigger
Her feelings become uncontrollable
They were always so much bigger then her
She screams out in anger
"Calm down!" They yell
This time she bubbles over, rage bursting out the seams of her soul
"Fine." She says calmly
Because what is the point of trying to make her voice heard if she will just hear "calm down" after every. little. word.

    well, like
    i think
    for most situations, we need
to be relatively calm, so we can
    comprehend and think
    about what's happening in that
    moment
    because our emotion's, sadly
    as necessary and relevant
    as they are, tend
to cloud our capacity to reason
so 'being calm' in most cases
    is to our advantage..
    but then again, having someone
dictate to us, that we 'MUST'
be calm, is a sure-fire way
to insure, the very last thing
we want to be, is having
    a state of 'calmness'
trying to be enforced upon us..
    so erm
I think I understand where you're coming from
    (please
    forgive my lengthy response
    and thanks for sharing
    hope things get better
    and you find those
who understand you and cherish you
for who you are, so you
can just be yourself and all
    you want to be
    stay strong!)
