Autocracy thrives In Secrecy

Autocracy and tyrannical power thrive in secrecy.

If those in power chose to draft up their own version of what rights individuals should have while sheltered and closeted in their own robes given by the people, then we the people individually and collectively have the right to defend our bodies and our liberties by throwing open the doors and windows in that sealed  room where our rights are decided and let the light of day in.

Whistle blowers or horn tooters can sing out truth without fear of reprimand. Free speech isn’t just about what we can speak but also to be a voice for truth

about what is done by those who represent us, . Those who attempt to alter liberties of all and never to be challenged while changing the lives of the entire citizenry need to be removed from the office and position that we afforded them at what ever level of governance.-Mary L Hofer

 

 

Autocracy Thrives In Secrecy 

Is principled idealism in governance

for the greater good now dead

Or is it again historically replaced

by autocratic manifest destiny instead

I know it still lives and breathes in me

The long walk towards equity and equality

With our better angels singing

Out humane purpose collectively

Acting on accord legislatively

The stewards of our democracy

Should work for each individual liberty

Not a high brow fight

juxtapositioning right for might

Is hate mongering for political power

a good manipulative tool again

Taking back everything judiciously right

For and by the people with constitutional pen

Undoing all with no legislative protocol

Leaving voters unable to demand a recall

When those elected undermine our constituent majority

Teamed up to only work

As a one party legislative authority

never to vote for all Americans with integrity

Instead dark money and the power hiding behind

Will unleash any untruth,misalign and redefine

their solemn oath sworn to govern justly for all

We need to heed what is done or not done in our name

When our views are used as propaganda to defame

Those not of their despotic and chronic kind

only using red tape to bind and blind the mind

We must end their game of us vrs us

and not be used, embittered or confused

By the constant bombardment of political preferences

And overturn this overworked use of conspiracy

By voting  together as e pluribus unum

in all our diversity and differences

regaining truth and trust

Thereby defending  and renewing our democracy-MLH
