Tune: Ye Banks and Braes
('We cannot measure how you heal')
1 Samuel 2 v.1-10
*********
Hannah did pray, and she did say
My heart it does rejoice always
In the Lord, my strength exalted
In the Lord is, He has me led
I smile now at my enemies
Before the Lord now each one flees
Because I rejoice, Lord, in your
Salvation now and evermore
There is none holy as the Lord
None beside Him, true is His word
Nor any rock like our God be
Talk no more now very proudly
Speak not arrogantly, for He
The Lord a God of knowledge be
And by Him our actions are weighed
None hidden, before Him outlaid
Bows of mighty, they are broken
God shows Himself stronger than men
And they that stumbled are girded
With strength, and by the Lord are fed
They that were full have hired selves out
For food, they were hungry, no doubt
They that were hungry were then filled
Barren women children did yield
The Lord kills, and does make alive
Brings down to grave, and does raise, save
He makes poor and too He makes rich
Brings low, lifts up, knows each one's pitch
He raises up poor from the dust
Lifts beggar from dung-hill and rust
Set them midst princes, that they may
Glory inherit in their days
The pillars of the earth belong
To the Lord, to Him be our song
He has set upon them the world
And Hs creation has unfurled
The feet of His saints He will keep
They ever in His fold His sheep
For by strength shall no man prevail
His efforts vain, to no avail
The Lord's adversaries, they sahall
Be broken to pieces, we tell
Out of heaven He shall thunder
Upon them, justice does render
He shall judge the ends of the earth
Shal give strength to His king, no dearth
Shall exalt the strength of the one
His anointed, His only Son

This one reads with powerful words of tribute and praise. It speaks like distantly approaching thunder.
