I'd Turn And Walk Away by Richard Martin

I’D Turn And Walk Away        by Richard Martin     D             5

I’d walk for days and days, through the deserts burning sand

I’d go for days without water, for the touch of your hand

Yes my love for you is strong and grows stronger with each day

But if you say you don’t want me, I’d turn and walk away

I’d do anything you ask dear, I do more than my share

I’d give all I own dear, if only that you cared

You never give an inch dear, while I go an extra mile

I’d do anything for you darling, just to see you smile

You know sweetheart it would hurt me if you don’t want me

But if that’s the way you feel dear, it's best to set me free

If you don’t want me hanging around, then all you have to say

Is I don’t care for you darling, and I’d turn and walk away

This poem started out reminding me of the song Boulder to Birminham by Emmylou Harris. It has a nice meter and rhyme loved it.
