Minnow

i see a glimmer in the waves

and feel it brush past my leg

i only hope my sunny eyes will move soon

as your curls of blue cry for the moon

but the air's embrace of my skin today

keep me standing there waiting for you

 

so i'll watch your heart sink to the sand

i have no words but i have a hand

that i open to you when nothing's changed

and hold the path you left in your wake

your ocean of tears and my little fears

spiral between us, but we never break
