I wish I hadn't met you

If I hadn't met you, I wouldn't be in this much pain

They say "The heart wants what it wants"

But when it wants someone like you, it makes my heart ache

If I were to make the first move, you would probably reject me

That's how the story goes

For the depth of today's love is the depth of tomorrow's wound

But I've fallen hard, and I can't stop falling

Not when I see you almost daily

 

I'm glad that I met you

Because we met, I understand what being in love feels like

Although I'm barely surviving this constant pain

I wish we were closer, but that would make the pain worse

I wish you would make the first move

But you never will

 

Now I'm wishing on shooting stars

And manifesting for us to be

But none of this will work

When you're too busy playing the main character

If I had a fairy godmother, or I had one wish left from a genie

My wish would be for us to be together, but that's not how it works

 

I remember the moment I realised I was in love

I was thinking about you, and I thought about how deep my feelings are

My heart burst into a million pieces and I broke down in tears

There isn't much that could heal it

The only things that could help would be for us to date or for me to stop

But neither will happen, so I will stay here with this broken heart
