The Hard Road of Choice

Rohan Regi

Ahead lies a path that asks of me,
What to embrace, what to relinquish free?
A choice that fills me with uncertainty,
To leave behind what I hold dear,
Or put my dreams on the back burner, unclear.
Though I am blessed with souls who gave them both,
Nurturing me as I grew, selflessly,
Feeding my spirit with their sacrifices,
And enveloping me in their loving embrace.

Now the choice that shaped my existence,
Stands before me, demanding an answer,
As what we lose reasons for what we hold.
To let go of, I may lack the strength unlike them,
But for the latter, I am certain of my choice,
For the decision is mine and mine alone to make.
