Don't Let The Ice Melt

sydneydowling

Don’t let the ice melt, dear soul, don’t let it fade away.

Once each day passes, it’s left to decay.

Amidst the chaos and hurried pace,

Life is a gift, not just a frantic race.

Don’t let the ice melt, dear soul, don’t let it slip you by,

Savour each moment and look up to the sky.

Behold the stars, their shimmering delight,

With the moon as you guardian, watching you each night.

Don’t let the ice melt, dear soul, hear my plea.

Release the emotions within you. and let yourself be free.

For in acceptance and love, true healing thrives,

Illuminating the beauty in each soul’s diverse lives.

Don’t let the ice melt, dear soul, don’t hesitate.

Time’s grasp won’t stall the present, nor abate.

Love and be loved, for there’s no other decree,

Unapologetically shine, let your true self be seen.

As time marches on, and seasons unfold,

Guard against complacency, let it not take hold.

In this fleeting existence, embrace all that is delt

Feel every emotion and don’t let the ice melt.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem aims to convey the importance of embracing the present moment, refusing to let life slip away unnoticed. Just as ice inevitably melts, it compels us to seize control of our destiny, becoming the master of our own ship. It beckons us to express our love to those dear to us, despite the apprehension within, and to courageously take risks even in the face of potential failure.
