Lundahl's Lament

M. Rigby Barington

Goodbye, my friends
I'm much too old to fight ship nor sea,
I face no choice; I mark my end--
I am tired now, and so is she.

My corpse will lie
on the ocean floor;
in death breathe life
forevermore.
