A Gift's Worth

Rohan Regi

 You received it with grace,
Though unable to accept.
Seeing my gift held in your hands
Was reward enough for me.

Knowing you considered a return gift,
Though unable, do not trouble.
The thought alone filled empty spaces
More than any gift could hold.

Let's say the favour's been repaid,
The gift received in kind.
Now simply enjoy what I've shared,
For it was meant to gladden your mind.

And when gladness leaves you in it,
Set it aside without care,
For the gift has done its work
By bringing joy, however fleeting.
