Looking east early in the day
a smoked red sun cuts a hole through
gray clouds over spring pasture
and a sleepy old horse.
Its head falls onto cumulus grass,
a magpie skims and glides over green.
Black and white settles on the
Brown, dozing tranquility.
Long tail-feathers swipe the air,
As the horse tail sweeps and swooshes
over the still breathing land
under a smoke-red sun
