Drunken tears

Natalie Heisey

Hitting the bottle wash away my sorrow

I know it won't make a brighter tomorrow Its ok to feel lost and alone Theres other ways to make your soul feel right at home Whisky and tears are my true escape But I know it wont wash away the pain  My heart turned to stone, but talking to someone can make it all unfold

I seen the long tunnel of light But I feel it is not right though it shines so bright It can not erase my pain overnight I have to remember that I'm never alone I have spirits that are trying to keep me healthy and strong.I need to pull out of the darkness And make my life a better place So I can rise above the shadows of the night sober and straight

And I'll leave the darkness far behind and keep my head held  high, for I know in the end my heart will forever shine. And I'll look back on these Drunken tears of just stories that can be shared. And when it ends I'll be feeling happy and whole all over again.

The plight of the challenged human spirit, faced with regressive obstacles cloaked as coping mechanisms can ever so often present to our fallible selves as insurmountable... Pieces like these are boot strap hopes and rays of light much needed by many out there... Peace, healing and blessings your way, dear writer.
